After telling someone I’m an attorney, I get a lot of surprised reactions when I tell them I do criminal defense.  With all of the hype from movies and TV shows, people have a lot of misconceptions about people who are arrested and accused of having committed a crime.  My practice is largely focused on DWI / DUI (driving while intoxicated) defense, although we also handle other types of cases.  DWI / DUI is very different from representing those accused of crimes like murder, kidnapping, etc.  Many of my clients have never been arrested before their current case.  They come from all different backgrounds but are generally everyday, normal people.  What do they all have in common?  They are nice people and it is very rewarding to work with them to get the best result possible on their case.
